Acquisition of Rotorua and Taupo Electricity, New Zealand

Morrison & Co acted for TrustPower in respect of successful acquisition of Rotorua and Taupo Electricity creating the fourth largest electricity distribution company in New Zealand and the largest independent generator (outside of the state-owned generators ECNZ and Contact Energy). Specific aspects of the assignments included:

• Valuing the acquisitions and assisting with the financing structures;
• Co-ordination of due diligence process, documentation and completion of the transaction; and
• Assisting with the development of strategies to maximise value for TrustPower by integrating management and operational facilities to enhance efficiencies.
