Acquisition of Coleridge Power Station, NZ

Morrison & Co advised TrustPower on the successful acquisition of Coleridge Power Station. Morrison & Co’s role included:

• Due diligence;
• Financial modelling;
• Assisting with the modelling of the operation of the hydro station. This included developing a hydro reservoir simulation model, (in conjunction with specialist engineering consultants), to assess:
• Reservoir operating schedules to optimise economic use of storage;
• The earnings of the facility for an optimised time of day generation profile;
• The variation of value under various extreme inflow conditions; and
• Correlation of the facility’s generation capacity with those of ECNZ and any other relevant generation;
• Transmission pricing;
• Bid preparation; and
• Sale and purchase negotiations.
